The Onion Tool Exercise

Exercise:

  1. Scan through local reports in your city or region and choose 1 news story to analyze.
  2. Using the onion tool, analyze each actor of the news story based on a radio or TV clip, a newspaper report or an online report from a local news outfit. 
  3. Using your analysis from that news report, develop further questions to enhance the news report to bring out interests of each conflict actor or if possible the real needs.  
  4. Write a new report after executing your questions to the respective sources.
